Key Responsibilities

  • Warmly welcome and register guests upon arrival, ensuring a smooth and efficient check-in process.
  • Process guest check-outs, accurately handling payments, and resolving any billing discrepancies.
  • Manage and confirm reservations, modifying details as required, and assigning rooms based on guest preferences and availability.
  • Provide comprehensive information regarding hotel services, facilities, policies, and local attractions.
  • Act as a primary point of contact for guest inquiries, requests, and concerns, ensuring timely and effective resolution.
  • Handle incoming and outgoing telephone calls, directing them appropriately and taking messages when necessary.
  • Maintain an organised and tidy front desk area, ensuring all necessary supplies are stocked.
  • Assist with concierge services, including booking taxis, recommending restaurants, and arranging tours.
  • Collaborate effectively with other hotel departments (e.g., housekeeping, maintenance, F&B) to ensure seamless guest service.
  • Process and document daily transactions accurately, including cash, credit card, and other payment methods.
  • Adhere to all hotel security procedures and emergency protocols.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with guests to encourage repeat business.

Required Skills

  • Exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities in English and French.
  • Proficiency in using hotel property management systems (PMS) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask effectively in a busy environment.
  • Problem-solving aptitude with a calm and professional demeanor.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in handling transactions and guest information.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Preferred Qualifications

  • A diploma or degree in Hospitality Management or a related field.
  • Fluency in additional languages (e.g., Creole, German, Mandarin).
  • Previous experience with specific PMS software like Opera, Fidelio, or Protel.
  • First Aid and CPR certification.
