We are seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused Front Desk Officer to be the welcoming face of our establishment in Pamplemousses. Key Responsibilities
- Warmly welcome and register guests upon arrival, processing check-ins and check-outs efficiently.
- Manage all forms of guest correspondence, including phone calls, emails, and in-person inquiries, providing accurate information and assistance.
- Handle guest complaints and resolve issues promptly, professionally, and to the guest's satisfaction, escalating to management when necessary.
- Process payments, maintain accurate billing records, and manage the front desk cash drawer.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of hotel facilities, services, and local attractions to provide informed recommendations to guests.
- Oversee the reservation system, ensuring all bookings are accurately recorded and managed.
- Coordinate with other departments (housekeeping, maintenance, F&B) to ensure guest requests are met seamlessly.
- Perform night audit duties as required, reconciling daily transactions and preparing reports.
- Adhere to all hotel policies, procedures, and safety guidelines.
- Contribute to maintaining a clean, tidy, and welcoming front desk area.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a front desk or customer service role, preferably in the hospitality industry.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills in English and French.
- Proficiency in hotel management software (PMS) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask effectively.
- Proven ability to handle difficult situations with patience and professionalism.
- A positive attitude, strong work ethic, and a team-oriented mindset.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Preferred Qualifications
- A diploma or degree in Hospitality Management or a related field.
- Proficiency in additional languages (e.g., German, Mandarin, Hindi) is a significant advantage.
- Experience with Opera PMS or similar systems.
- First Aid and CPR certification.
