Key Responsibilities
- Warmly welcome and register guests upon arrival, processing check-ins and check-outs efficiently and accurately.
- Handle all guest inquiries, requests, and concerns promptly and professionally, ensuring guest satisfaction.
- Manage reservations, including inputting new bookings, modifying existing ones, and handling cancellations.
- Process payments, maintain accurate cash drawer, and reconcile daily transactions.
- Answer and direct incoming calls, taking messages as necessary.
- Provide comprehensive information about hotel facilities, services, and local attractions.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and inviting front desk area.
- Collaborate effectively with housekeeping, maintenance, and other departments to ensure seamless guest services.
- Resolve guest complaints or issues with empathy and efficiency, escalating to management when necessary.
- Perform administrative duties such as filing, printing, and preparing reports.
- Adhere to all hotel policies, procedures, and safety guidelines.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a front desk or customer service role, preferably within the hospitality industry.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and French (Creole is a plus).
- Proficiency in hotel management software (PMS) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong interpersonal skills with a genuine desire to assist guests.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively in a busy environment.
- Exceptional problem-solving abilities and a calm demeanor under pressure.
- High level of professionalism, integrity, and discretion.
Preferred Qualifications
- Diploma or Certificate in Hospitality Management or a related field.
- Experience with specific PMS systems like Opera, Fidelio, or similar.
- Knowledge of local attractions and cultural points of interest in Port Louis and Mauritius.
- Proven ability to work independently and as part of a diverse team.
