Career.zycto is actively seeking a highly motivated and guest-focused Front Desk Officer to join a prestigious hotel establishment in the vibrant hub of Ébène, Mauritius. Key Responsibilities

  • Warmly welcome and register guests upon arrival, ensuring a smooth and efficient check-in process.
  • Process guest check-outs accurately and swiftly, handling payments and resolving any outstanding issues.
  • Manage and confirm reservations, cancellations, and modifications using the hotel’s property management system.
  • Answer guest inquiries via phone, email, and in-person, providing detailed information about hotel facilities, services, and local attractions.
  • Address and resolve guest complaints or concerns promptly and professionally, escalating issues to management when necessary.
  • Maintain an organized and tidy front desk area, ensuring all necessary supplies are stocked.
  • Handle incoming and outgoing mail and packages for guests and staff.
  • Assist with luggage handling and provide escort to rooms when required.
  • Collaborate effectively with other hotel departments (housekeeping, F&B, maintenance) to ensure seamless guest service.
  • Process various transactions, including foreign exchange and credit card payments, ensuring accuracy and security.
  • Prepare daily reports and reconcile cash drawer at the end of each shift.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in a front desk or customer service role, preferably within the hospitality industry.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and French; Creole is a significant advantage.
  • Strong proficiency in using property management systems (PMS) and general office software.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication abilities, with a natural flair for guest relations.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively in a dynamic environment.
  • High level of professionalism, integrity, and a positive, can-do attitude.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to remain calm and efficient under pressure.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy in handling transactions and guest information.

Preferred Qualifications

  • A diploma or degree in Hospitality Management or a related field.
  • Fluency in additional languages (e.g., German, Mandarin) would be a strong asset.
  • Prior experience with specific hotel PMS software (e.g., Opera, Fidelio).
  • Certification in First Aid and CPR.
  • Familiarity with local Mauritian tourism and cultural attractions.
