Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused Front Desk Officer to be the welcoming face of our esteemed hotel. As a Front Desk Officer, you will play a pivotal role in creating an exceptional first impression for our guests, ensuring their stay is seamless and enjoyable from check-in to check-out. Your primary responsibility will be to manage all aspects of guest reception, including processing reservations, handling inquiries, providing information about hotel services and local attractions, and resolving any guest concerns with professionalism and efficiency. This role requires an individual with excellent communication skills, a proactive attitude, and a genuine passion for hospitality.

The ideal candidate will possess a keen eye for detail, the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment, and a calm demeanor under pressure. Key Responsibilities

  • Warmly greet and welcome all guests upon arrival, adhering to hotel service standards.
  • Efficiently perform check-in and check-out procedures, ensuring accuracy of guest information and billing.
  • Manage guest reservations, cancellations, and modifications using the hotel's property management system (PMS).
  • Handle all incoming calls and correspondence with professionalism, directing inquiries appropriately.
  • Provide comprehensive information about hotel facilities, services, and local points of interest.
  • Address guest complaints and concerns promptly and effectively, escalating issues when necessary to ensure guest satisfaction.
  • Maintain a tidy and organized front desk area, ensuring all necessary supplies are stocked.
  • Process payments, manage cash floats, and prepare daily reports accurately.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in a customer service or hospitality role, preferably in a hotel setting.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and French (Mauritian Creole is a plus).
  • Proficiency in using Property Management Systems (PMS), such as Opera or similar.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask efficiently.
  • A genuine passion for delivering exceptional guest service and satisfaction.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment and independently.
  • Problem-solving capabilities with a calm and professional approach.

Preferred Qualifications

  • A diploma or degree in Hotel Management, Hospitality, or a related field.
  • Prior experience with luxury hotel brands.
  • Knowledge of an additional international language (e.g., German, Mandarin, Hindi).
