Key Responsibilities
- Assist clients with daily living activities (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and feeding.
- Provide companionship and engage clients in stimulating activities such as reading, games, and light exercise.
- Monitor and report changes in client health, behavior, or well-being to appropriate family members or supervisors.
- Administer medication reminders as per the client's care plan and ensure adherence.
- Perform light housekeeping duties, meal preparation, and grocery shopping to maintain a comfortable living environment.
- Accompany clients to appointments, errands, and social outings, providing safe transportation and support.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized living environment for clients.
- Communicate effectively and compassionately with clients, their families, and other healthcare professionals.
- Accurately document services provided, client observations, and any incidents according to company procedures.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a caregiver, personal assistant, or in a related support role.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a patient and empathetic approach.
- Compassionate, reliable, and trustworthy demeanor.
- Ability to perform duties independently and reliably, with a strong sense of responsibility.
- Physical stamina to assist clients with mobility, transfers, and other physical needs.
- Basic understanding of hygiene, sanitation, and safety principles.
- Fluency in Kinyarwanda; working knowledge of English is a significant advantage.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certification in caregiving, nursing assistant, first aid, or CPR.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience working with individuals with specific medical conditions (e.g., dementia, Alzheimer's, diabetes).
- Valid Rwandan driver's license and access to reliable transportation.
