Are you an ambitious Civil Engineer passionate about crafting the landscapes of tomorrow? We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Full-Time Civil Engineer to contribute to our portfolio of groundbreaking projects, ranging from large-scale residential and commercial developments to critical infrastructure enhancements within our integrated living spaces, such as our burgeoning smart city initiatives.

The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in the planning, design, and oversight of various civil engineering works. This includes earthworks, sophisticated drainage systems, robust road infrastructure, intricate utility networks (water, sewerage, electricity, telecom), and solid structural foundations for diverse building types. You will be responsible for preparing comprehensive technical specifications, rigorously reviewing contractor submissions, diligently monitoring project progress against timelines and budgets, and ensuring unwavering compliance with local regulations, industry standards, and international best practices. Your analytical acumen will be crucial in proactive problem-solving, thorough risk assessment, and continuously optimizing project efficiency and resource utilization. Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, review, and approve civil engineering designs, plans, and technical specifications for various development projects.
- Conduct site investigations, feasibility studies, and risk assessments to inform design and project planning.
- Supervise and inspect construction works to ensure adherence to design specifications, quality standards, safety regulations, and project timelines.
- Manage project budgets, resource allocation, and procurement processes for civil engineering components.
- Collaborate with architects, urban planners, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless project integration.
- Monitor project progress, identify potential issues, and implement effective solutions to keep projects on track.
- Ensure compliance with all local statutory requirements, environmental regulations, and industry best practices.
- Prepare detailed reports, presentations, and documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and project team members.
- Participate in tender evaluations and contract negotiations with external suppliers and contractors.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized institution.
- Minimum 3 years of progressive experience in civil engineering, preferably in land development or construction.
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D) and other relevant engineering design tools.
- Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and structural engineering principles.
- Excellent project management skills, including planning, budgeting, and execution.
- In-depth knowledge of Mauritian building codes, environmental regulations, and health and safety standards.
- Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.
- Effective communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
- Chartered Engineer status or Professional Engineer (PE) registration.
- Experience with GIS software for mapping and analysis.
- Prior experience with smart city infrastructure development or large-scale integrated projects.
- Familiarity with FIDIC contracts.
- Proficiency in French.
