Job Description
Swift Transport is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Full-Time Logistics Officer to join our dynamic team in Chitungwiza, Harare Province. This pivotal role is central to ensuring the seamless flow of goods and optimizing our supply chain operations within the region. As a Logistics Officer, you will be instrumental in managing daily logistics activities, from coordinating transportation routes and schedules to overseeing inventory control and ensuring compliance with all regulatory standards. You will be responsible for the efficient dispatch and delivery of goods, working closely with drivers, warehouse personnel, and clients to guarantee satisfaction and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities
- Plan, organize, and monitor the dispatch and routing of vehicles to ensure timely and cost-effective deliveries.
- Manage fleet maintenance schedules and vehicle allocation, ensuring optimal utilization and operational readiness.
- Track and monitor shipments from origin to destination, providing real-time updates and resolving any transit issues promptly.
- Coordinate effectively with drivers, warehouse staff, and sales teams to streamline operations and enhance service delivery.
- Ensure strict compliance with all local and national transport regulations, safety standards, and company policies.
- Optimize logistical procedures and implement best practices to improve efficiency and reduce operational costs.
- Prepare and analyze logistics performance reports, identifying areas for improvement and recommending strategic solutions.
- Oversee inventory control, ensuring accurate stock levels, proper storage, and timely replenishment.
- Manage documentation, including waybills, delivery notes, and customs forms, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Conduct regular audits of logistics processes and vendor performance to uphold quality standards.
- Handle customer inquiries and complaints related to logistics, providing professional and timely resolutions.
Required Skills
- Proven experience (minimum 3 years) in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field.
- Strong organizational, planning, and time management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, with a knack for team collaboration.
- Proficiency in logistics software, fleet management systems, and Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel).
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
- Valid Class 2 or 4 Driver's License (Zimbabwean) and a clean driving record.
- Bachelor's Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional certification in Logistics and Transport (e.g., CILT – Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport).
- Experience with specific Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems used in logistics.
- In-depth knowledge of Zimbabwean transport regulations and customs procedures.
- Prior experience working with cross-border logistics.
