Key Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care plans.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians, accurately and safely.
  • Monitor and record vital signs, medical histories, and patient progress.
  • Assist physicians during examinations and minor surgical procedures.
  • Educate patients and their families on health management, disease prevention, and post-treatment care.
  • Maintain accurate, comprehensive, and confidential patient medical records.
  • Ensure strict adherence to infection control protocols and maintain a sterile environment.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement holistic care plans.
  • Respond effectively to medical emergencies and provide initial care.
  • Provide emotional support and comfort to patients and their families.
  • Participate in continuing education and professional development activities.

Required Skills

  • Registered Nurse (RN) license in Zimbabwe
  • Minimum of 2 years of clinical nursing experience
  • Proficiency in basic life support (BLS) and first aid
  • Excellent clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment
  • Compassionate and empathetic patient-care approach
  • Proficiency in medical recordkeeping and basic computer skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
  • Experience in an outpatient clinic or emergency department setting
  • Additional certifications such as Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
  • Fluency in local languages (e.g., Venda, Shona, Ndebele)
