Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care plans.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians, accurately and safely.
- Monitor and record vital signs, medical histories, and patient progress.
- Assist physicians during examinations and minor surgical procedures.
- Educate patients and their families on health management, disease prevention, and post-treatment care.
- Maintain accurate, comprehensive, and confidential patient medical records.
- Ensure strict adherence to infection control protocols and maintain a sterile environment.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement holistic care plans.
- Respond effectively to medical emergencies and provide initial care.
- Provide emotional support and comfort to patients and their families.
- Participate in continuing education and professional development activities.
Required Skills
- Registered Nurse (RN) license in Zimbabwe
- Minimum of 2 years of clinical nursing experience
- Proficiency in basic life support (BLS) and first aid
- Excellent clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment
- Compassionate and empathetic patient-care approach
- Proficiency in medical recordkeeping and basic computer skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- Experience in an outpatient clinic or emergency department setting
- Additional certifications such as Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
- Fluency in local languages (e.g., Venda, Shona, Ndebele)
