OK Furniture in Gando, Shumba, is actively seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Furniture Shop Delivery Helper to bolster our logistics operations. As a Delivery Helper, you will be a vital link in ensuring our valued customers receive their furniture and appliances safely, efficiently, and with a friendly face. You will work closely with our experienced delivery drivers, assisting with all aspects of the delivery process, from loading and unloading valuable items to helping with basic assembly and ensuring a smooth customer experience. Key Responsibilities
- Assist delivery drivers with loading, unloading, and securing furniture and appliances onto delivery vehicles.
- Safely transport items into customer homes or businesses, exercising extreme care to prevent damage to products or property.
- Provide basic assembly of furniture items at the customer's location as required, following instructions accurately.
- Interact with customers in a professional, courteous, and friendly manner, ensuring a positive delivery experience.
- Verify product accuracy and condition with customers upon delivery, obtaining necessary signatures and documentation.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and company policies while handling merchandise and operating in various environments.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the delivery vehicle and warehouse area.
- Communicate effectively with the delivery team and store management regarding any delivery challenges or customer feedback.
Required Skills
- Ability to lift and move heavy furniture and appliances regularly (up to 50kg or more with assistance).
- Excellent physical stamina and strength for prolonged periods of lifting, carrying, and bending.
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and punctuality.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and follow directions.
- Basic verbal communication skills to interact professionally with customers and colleagues.
- Commitment to safety procedures and careful handling of merchandise.
- A positive attitude and customer-focused approach.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a delivery, warehouse, or physically demanding role.
- Basic literacy and numeracy skills.
- Knowledge of basic furniture assembly (training will be provided).
- Familiarity with local Gando, Shumba areas or willingness to learn delivery routes efficiently.
