Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Gardener to join our dedicated team in Vacoas-Phoenix. Key Responsibilities
- Perform daily gardening tasks including planting, watering, fertilizing, weeding, pruning, and mowing lawns.
- Maintain the health and aesthetic appeal of all plants, trees, shrubs, and flowers within the designated compounds.
- Operate and maintain gardening tools and equipment safely and effectively, including mowers, trimmers, and blowers.
- Monitor plants for signs of disease or pests and apply appropriate treatments under supervision.
- Manage irrigation systems, ensuring optimal watering schedules and efficient water usage.
- Assist with landscape design and implementation, including laying out new garden beds and installing new plant material.
- Ensure cleanliness and tidiness of all garden areas, pathways, and outdoor spaces.
- Dispose of green waste and other refuse in an environmentally responsible manner.
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations while performing duties.
- Report any equipment malfunctions, safety hazards, or significant plant issues to the supervisor.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Gardener or similar role, preferably in a corporate or hospitality environment.
- Sound knowledge of horticulture, plant care, and common local plant species.
- Ability to operate and maintain various gardening tools and equipment.
- Physical stamina and ability to perform strenuous tasks, often in varying weather conditions.
- Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to garden maintenance.
- Understanding of basic irrigation systems.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication skills.
