Job Description
Career.zycto is seeking a dedicated and experienced Gardener to join our dynamic team, focusing on the meticulous landscaping and compound maintenance in Curepipe. Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine gardening duties including planting, watering, fertilizing, weeding, pruning, and mowing.
- Design, cultivate, and maintain diverse garden beds, ensuring aesthetic appeal and plant health.
- Monitor and manage plant diseases and pests, applying appropriate and safe treatments.
- Operate and maintain gardening equipment and tools, ensuring they are in good working condition.
- Maintain irrigation systems, ensuring efficient watering and promptly addressing any issues.
- Conduct regular inspections of the compound grounds to identify areas requiring attention.
- Participate in the planning and implementation of new landscape projects or renovations.
- Ensure cleanliness and tidiness of all outdoor areas, including pathways, patios, and common spaces.
- Adhere to all safety guidelines and environmental regulations related to gardening practices.
- Provide recommendations for plant selection, garden design enhancements, and sustainable practices.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Gardener or Landscaper.
- Strong knowledge of horticulture, plant care, and common pests/diseases in tropical climates.
- Proficiency in operating gardening tools and machinery (e.g., mowers, trimmers, blowers).
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Physical stamina and ability to perform demanding outdoor tasks in various weather conditions.
- Excellent attention to detail and a keen eye for aesthetics.
- Basic understanding of irrigation systems.
Preferred Qualifications
- Formal qualification or certification in Horticulture, Landscaping, or a related field.
- Experience with landscape design principles and implementation.
- Knowledge of indigenous Mauritian flora and sustainable gardening practices.
- Valid driving license (manual preferred).
- First Aid certification.
