Key Responsibilities
- Perform general garden maintenance, including weeding, pruning, planting, and watering of flowerbeds, shrubs, and trees.
- Execute regular lawn care tasks, such as mowing, strimming, edging, and leaf blowing.
- Undertake hedge cutting, shaping, and maintenance to high standards.
- Monitor plant health, identify common pests and diseases, and apply appropriate treatments.
- Maintain hard landscaped areas, ensuring they are clean, tidy, and free from debris.
- Operate and maintain gardening machinery and tools safely and effectively.
- Adhere to health and safety regulations at all times.
- Assist with seasonal planting schemes and landscape enhancements.
- Manage irrigation systems and ensure efficient water usage.
- Provide clear and concise communication regarding grounds conditions and work progress.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Gardener or Landscaper.
- Strong knowledge of horticulture, plant care, and common garden pests/diseases.
- Proficiency in operating various gardening machinery (e.g., mowers, strimmers, hedge trimmers).
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Excellent attention to detail and a strong work ethic.
- Physical fitness and ability to perform manual labour in various weather conditions.
- Valid UK driving license.
Preferred Qualifications
- Horticultural qualification (e.g., NVQ Level 2 in Amenity Horticulture or similar).
- PA1/PA6 spraying certificates.
