Career.zycto is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Gardener – Landscaping & Grounds Care professional to join our growing team in Bingham, Nottingham. Key Responsibilities
- Perform general gardening duties including planting, pruning, weeding, watering, and fertilizing plants, shrubs, and trees.
- Mow, edge, and strim lawns and grassy areas, maintaining neat and tidy appearances.
- Operate and maintain a variety of horticultural machinery and equipment safely and efficiently (e.g., mowers, hedge trimmers, leaf blowers).
- Undertake landscape improvements and soft landscaping projects as directed, including new planting schemes.
- Monitor plant health, identify pests and diseases, and apply appropriate treatments.
- Maintain pathways, patios, and other hard landscaped areas, ensuring they are clean and free of debris.
- Ensure all work is carried out in compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Keep accurate records of work performed and materials used.
- Contribute to maintaining a clean, organised, and safe working environment.
- Provide advice and guidance on horticultural matters where appropriate.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in professional gardening or grounds maintenance.
- Strong knowledge of horticulture, including plant identification, care, and propagation.
- Proficiency in operating various gardening machinery and hand tools.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent attention to detail and a proactive approach to work.
- Understanding of health and safety practices relevant to gardening.
- Physical fitness and ability to perform demanding outdoor tasks in various weather conditions.
- Valid UK driving license.
Preferred Qualifications
- NVQ Level 2 or equivalent qualification in Horticulture or Landscaping.
- PA1/PA6 certification for pesticide application.
- Experience with irrigation systems.
- Basic knowledge of landscape design principles.
