As a Gas Engineer with Career.zycto, you will be at the forefront of ensuring the safety and comfort of our clients by undertaking a variety of domestic and light commercial gas tasks. Your day will involve everything from routine servicing and safety checks to complex fault diagnosis and repair of gas appliances and systems. Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine servicing, maintenance, and safety checks on domestic and light commercial gas appliances and systems.
- Diagnose and repair faults on a wide range of gas boilers, cookers, fires, and heating systems.
- Carry out installations of new gas appliances and associated pipework in accordance with Gas Safe regulations.
- Conduct thorough gas safety inspections (CP12s) and issue relevant certification.
- Adhere strictly to all health and safety regulations, company policies, and Gas Safe standards.
- Manage vehicle stock, ensuring necessary parts and equipment are available for jobs.
- Provide excellent customer service, clearly explaining work completed and offering advice.
- Complete all job-related paperwork and digital records accurately and in a timely manner.
- Participate in an on-call rota for emergency repairs as required.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a qualified Gas Engineer, particularly in domestic settings.
- Valid Gas Safe registration with relevant competencies (CCN1, CENWAT, CKR1, HTR1, CPA1).
- Full UK Driving Licence with a clean record.
- Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
- Excellent knowledge of current gas safety regulations and industry best practices.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to providing high-quality workmanship and customer service.
Preferred Qualifications
- Commercial Gas qualifications (e.g., COCN1, ICPN1, CIGA1) are a significant advantage.
- Experience with smart home heating controls and renewable energy systems.
- NVQ Level 3 in Gas Installation and Maintenance or equivalent.
- Previous experience working with a diverse range of boiler manufacturers.
- First Aid certification.
