Job Description

Guardsman Group, Jamaica’s premier security solutions provider, is seeking a dedicated Full-Time Gate Control Operator to join our dynamic team in Manor Park, Kingston. This is a pivotal role where you will serve as the frontline guardian of our premises, directly impacting the safety and operational efficiency of our facilities. As a Gate Control Operator, you will be entrusted with the critical responsibility of managing all incoming and outgoing traffic, both vehicular and pedestrian, at designated access points. Your day will involve meticulously verifying identities, checking credentials, and operating advanced gate systems and barriers. You will be instrumental in preventing unauthorized entry, meticulously maintaining comprehensive logs of all movements, and providing clear, professional instructions to visitors and staff alike. This role demands exceptional observational skills, unwavering attention to detail, and a calm, authoritative demeanor. You will be expected to respond promptly and appropriately to any security concerns, escalating incidents to supervisors as necessary. Key Responsibilities
- Operate and monitor all gate access points, ensuring smooth and secure flow of traffic.
- Verify identity and credentials of all individuals and vehicles entering and exiting the premises.
- Maintain accurate and detailed logs of all vehicular and pedestrian movements, incidents, and security checks.
- Implement and enforce access control policies and procedures rigorously.
- Conduct regular patrols around the immediate gate area to identify and report any security breaches or suspicious activities.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with visitors, staff, and management.
- Respond promptly to alarms, emergencies, and security incidents as per company protocols.
- Monitor CCTV surveillance systems for the gate area and surrounding perimeter.
- Assist in emergency evacuation procedures and provide clear instructions to personnel and visitors.
- Ensure all gate equipment and access control systems are in good working order and report any malfunctions.
