As the initial point of contact, you will serve as the eyes and ears of our security operation, playing a pivotal role in controlling access and maintaining a secure environment. Your day-to-day responsibilities will encompass the meticulous monitoring and authorization of all inbound and outbound traffic, both vehicular and pedestrian. This includes verifying credentials, issuing temporary passes, and directing individuals to appropriate areas, all while upholding the highest standards of courtesy and professionalism.

Key Responsibilities
- Control access to the facility, including verifying identification for all incoming and outgoing personnel and vehicles.
- Operate gate systems, barriers, and surveillance equipment to monitor entry and exit points.
- Conduct regular patrols of the perimeter and designated areas to deter unauthorized activities and ensure security.
- Maintain accurate daily logs, visitor records, and comprehensive incident reports.
- Respond promptly and appropriately to alarms, disturbances, and all emergency situations, following established protocols.
- Enforce company security policies and procedures consistently and fairly, educating visitors and staff as needed.
- Provide clear, courteous, and accurate directions and information to all visitors and staff.
- Monitor CCTV cameras and other advanced security systems for suspicious activity or potential threats.
- Collaborate effectively with emergency services and local law enforcement when necessary, providing crucial information.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and promptly reporting any hazards or maintenance issues observed.
Required Skills
- Proven experience (minimum 1 year) as a Security Officer or in a related security field.
- Excellent observational and communication skills, both written and verbal, for effective reporting and interaction.
- Ability to competently operate various security equipment, including CCTV, access control systems, and communication devices.
- Strong understanding of security protocols, emergency procedures, and risk assessment.
- Capable of working independently with minimal supervision and effectively as part of a cohesive team.
- Physical fitness to conduct regular patrols, stand for extended periods, and respond to incidents.
- Valid Alabama security guard license (or ability to obtain one prior to employment).
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience specifically with gate security operations or facility access control.
- Current CPR and First Aid certification.
- Familiarity with local law enforcement procedures and reporting requirements.
- Associate’s degree in Criminal Justice or a related protective services field.
