Key Responsibilities
- Perform general cleaning and maintenance duties across designated areas, including offices, visitor facilities, and animal enclosures.
- Assist with groundskeeping tasks such as weeding, sweeping, clearing pathways, and light landscaping.
- Support the operational team with the loading, unloading, and movement of supplies and equipment.
- Carry out basic repairs and upkeep of facilities under supervision, identifying and reporting any maintenance issues.
- Adhere strictly to all safety regulations and operational procedures.
- Assist animal keepers with non-direct animal care tasks such as preparing feed areas, cleaning equipment, and maintaining storage.
- Collaborate effectively with colleagues and supervisors to ensure tasks are completed efficiently and to a high standard.
- Undertake any other ad-hoc duties as assigned to support the overall functioning of the Trust.
Required Skills
- Physical fitness and ability to perform manual labor, including lifting and carrying.
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and punctuality.
- Ability to follow instructions accurately and work independently or as part of a team.
- Basic understanding of cleaning techniques and safe use of tools.
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn.
- Excellent communication skills in English or Swahili.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a general labor, maintenance, or hospitality role.
- Familiarity with working in an outdoor environment or conservation area.
- Basic knowledge of health and safety regulations.
- Valid driving license (Class BCE or similar) is an added advantage.
