Key Responsibilities
- Plan, design, and supervise geophysical surveys, ensuring data quality and adherence to project specifications.
- Process and interpret various geophysical data types, including seismic, magnetic, gravity, GPR, and electrical resistivity data.
- Develop and apply advanced geophysical modeling techniques to characterize subsurface structures and properties.
- Integrate geophysical data with geological, geotechnical, and hydrological information for comprehensive site understanding.
- Prepare detailed technical reports, maps, cross-sections, and presentations summarizing geophysical findings and recommendations.
- Utilize specialized geophysical software (e.g., Petrel, Kingdom Suite, Oasis Montaj, SeisImager) for data analysis and visualization.
- Collaborate effectively with geologists, engineers, environmental scientists, and project managers on interdisciplinary projects.
- Stay abreast of new geophysical technologies, methodologies, and industry best practices.
- Contribute to proposals and project planning, including scope definition, budgeting, and scheduling.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and environmental standards during fieldwork and data acquisition.
Required Skills
- Master's degree in Geophysics, Geology, Earth Sciences, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in geophysical data acquisition, processing, and interpretation.
- Proficiency in geophysical software packages (e.g., Petrel, Kingdom Suite, Oasis Montaj, Surfer, AutoCAD Civil 3D).
- Strong understanding of seismic reflection/refraction, gravity, magnetic, and electrical resistivity methods.
- Demonstrated ability to interpret complex geological and geophysical data.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
- Proficiency in technical report writing and presentation delivery.
- Fluency in English (written and spoken).
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel for fieldwork as required.
Preferred Qualifications
- PhD in Geophysics or a closely related discipline.
- Experience with environmental geophysics, hydrogeophysics, or geotechnical applications.
- Familiarity with programming languages such as Python or MATLAB for data analysis and automation.
- Knowledge of German language (B2 level or higher).
