Key Responsibilities
- Plan, execute, and manage various geophysical surveys (seismic, electromagnetic, gravity, magnetic, ground penetrating radar, etc.).
- Process, analyze, and interpret complex geophysical data using specialized software.
- Develop geological and geophysical models to characterize subsurface features and properties.
- Prepare detailed technical reports, maps, and presentations of findings for clients and stakeholders.
- Provide expert geophysical advice and support to multidisciplinary project teams.
- Ensure data quality and integrity throughout the project lifecycle.
- Stay abreast of new geophysical technologies, methodologies, and industry trends.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and environmental regulations during field operations.
- Collaborate with geologists, engineers, and other specialists to integrate geophysical data into comprehensive project solutions.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in geophysical data acquisition, processing, and interpretation software (e.g., Petrel, Geosoft Oasis Montaj, IHS Kingdom Suite, Surfer).
- Strong understanding of geophysical principles and techniques (seismic, EM, gravity, magnetics, GPR).
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated ability to prepare clear and concise technical reports and presentations.
- Solid communication and teamwork abilities.
- Experience with GIS software (e.g., ArcGIS, QGIS).
- Bachelor's degree in Geophysics, Geology, Earth Sciences, or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree or PhD in Geophysics or a related discipline.
- Professional Geoscientist (P.Geo) designation or eligibility for registration in Ontario.
- Experience with 3D geological modeling software.
- Familiarity with programming languages for data analysis (e.g., Python, MATLAB).
- Prior field experience in remote or challenging environments.
