Job Description

Career.zycto is seeking a highly skilled and passionate Remote Grant Writer to join our dynamic team. As a Remote Grant Writer, you will be instrumental in researching potential funding sources, developing compelling proposals, and managing the entire grant application process from conceptualization to submission. We are looking for an individual with a proven track record in securing grants, exceptional writing and communication skills, and a deep understanding of the philanthropic landscape. You will work independently, managing multiple projects concurrently, while also collaborating closely with project managers and clients to understand their needs and articulate their vision effectively. Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough research to identify potential grant opportunities from foundations, corporations, and government agencies aligned with client missions and organizational goals.
  • Develop, write, and edit compelling grant proposals, letters of inquiry, reports, and other fundraising materials, ensuring adherence to funder guidelines and deadlines.
  • Collaborate with project managers, clients, and internal teams to gather necessary information, data, and stories to support grant applications.
  • Manage the grant application lifecycle, including tracking submissions, reporting requirements, and maintaining a comprehensive grant calendar.
  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective funders, acting as a key point of contact for inquiries.
  • Prepare detailed budgets and financial reports in collaboration with finance teams to accompany grant proposals.
  • Stay informed about current trends in philanthropy, grant funding, and relevant policy changes to optimize funding strategies.

Required Skills

  • Minimum 3 years of demonstrated success in grant writing and securing significant funding.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a portfolio of successful grant proposals.
  • Proficiency in researching and identifying diverse funding opportunities.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines concurrently.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google Workspace.
  • Proven ability to work independently in a remote environment with minimal supervision.
  • Strategic thinking with an ability to connect programmatic needs with funder interests.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism, Communications, Non-profit Management, or a related field.
  • Experience with grant management software (e.g., Salesforce, Foundation Directory Online).
  • Familiarity with diverse non-profit sectors (e.g., education, arts, social services, environmental).
