Key Responsibilities
- Watering plants accurately according to specific schedules and plant needs.
- Potting and transplanting seedlings and mature plants into appropriate containers.
- Monitoring plant health, identifying, and reporting signs of pests, diseases, or nutrient deficiencies.
- Assisting with propagation techniques, including taking cuttings and sowing seeds.
- Maintaining cleanliness and organization within the greenhouse environment, including sweeping and tidying work areas.
- Preparing plants for sale or distribution, including labeling and packaging.
- Loading and unloading plant materials and supplies.
- Operating basic greenhouse equipment safely (e.g., hoses, sprayers, hand tools).
- Adhering to all safety protocols and company guidelines.
- Providing general support to the greenhouse management team as needed.
Required Skills
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting up to 50 lbs, bending, kneeling, and standing for extended periods.
- Reliability and a strong work ethic, with a commitment to consistent attendance.
- Ability to follow instructions meticulously and work independently or as part of a team.
- Comfort working in varying greenhouse conditions (heat, humidity, dirt).
- A positive attitude and a genuine interest in plants and horticulture.
- Effective communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a greenhouse, nursery, landscaping, or gardening role.
- Basic knowledge of plant care, common plant varieties, or pest identification.
