Key Responsibilities
- Perform daily turf maintenance, including mowing, aerating, topdressing, and verticutting using various specialized equipment.
- Implement and manage comprehensive irrigation systems, ensuring optimal water distribution and efficiency.
- Apply fertilizers, pesticides, and herbicides in accordance with safety guidelines and environmental regulations to maintain turf health and combat pests/diseases.
- Operate and maintain a diverse range of turf management machinery, including mowers, tractors, utility vehicles, and hand tools.
- Identify and diagnose turf and plant health issues, such as diseases, insect infestations, and nutritional deficiencies, and execute appropriate treatment plans.
- Execute landscape maintenance tasks, including planting, pruning, weeding, mulching, and general tidiness of grounds.
- Monitor weather conditions and adjust maintenance schedules accordingly to protect turf and ensure safety.
- Maintain detailed records of daily activities, chemical applications, and equipment maintenance.
- Adhere strictly to all health and safety regulations and company policies.
- Collaborate effectively with team members and report any significant issues or observations to the grounds management.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in greenkeeping, groundskeeping, or a related horticultural field.
- Solid understanding of turfgrass management principles, including common grass types, soil science, and nutrition.
- Proficiency in operating and performing basic maintenance on groundskeeping machinery.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in various weather conditions.
- Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Excellent physical stamina and ability to perform strenuous tasks.
- Valid driver's license.
Preferred Qualifications
- Formal qualification or certification in horticulture, turf management, or a related discipline.
- Experience with advanced irrigation systems and technologies.
- Knowledge of German environmental regulations regarding pesticide and fertilizer application.
- Previous experience in golf course maintenance or large-scale sports turf management.
- Pesticide application license (Sachkundenachweis Pflanzenschutz).
