Key Responsibilities
- Receive, unload, and check in all incoming grocery shipments with accuracy and efficiency.
- Verify product quantities against invoices and report any discrepancies or damages promptly.
- Organize and store merchandise in designated backroom areas, ensuring optimal space utilization.
- Rotate stock according to FIFO (First-In, First-Out) principles to minimize waste and ensure product freshness.
- Assist with moving products from the backroom to the sales floor, ensuring shelves are well-stocked and visually appealing.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized backroom and receiving area at all times, adhering to all safety protocols.
- Operate manual pallet jacks, hand trucks, and other equipment safely and effectively.
- Assist with inventory counts and stock control procedures as required.
- Support the front-end team by assisting with customer inquiries or other tasks when necessary.
Required Skills
- Ability to lift and carry heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) repeatedly throughout a shift.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills and a team-oriented mindset.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage time effectively.
- Basic numeracy and literacy skills for counting and verifying shipments.
- Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a grocery, retail, or warehouse environment.
- Knowledge of inventory management principles and stock rotation.
- Experience operating manual pallet jacks or similar equipment.
