Key Responsibilities
- Load and unload baggage, cargo, and mail from aircraft, ensuring proper handling and security procedures are followed.
- Operate various ground support equipment (e.g., tugs, belt loaders, pushback tractors) safely and efficiently.
- Marshal aircraft to and from parking stands, providing clear signals to flight crew.
- Assist passengers with special needs, including wheelchair assistance and unaccompanied minors.
- Perform aircraft cabin cleaning and restocking duties to maintain hygiene standards.
- Conduct pre-departure safety checks on aircraft and equipment.
- Maintain clear communication with flight crews, dispatch, and other ground personnel.
- Adhere strictly to all aviation security regulations and health and safety policies.
- Provide exceptional customer service and assistance to passengers as required.
- Support de-icing operations during adverse weather conditions.
Required Skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, outdoor environment, often in varying weather conditions.
- Excellent physical fitness and ability to lift heavy luggage (up to 25kg) and stand for extended periods.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- High level of reliability, punctuality, and attention to detail.
- A valid UK driving license is often required for operating ground support equipment.
- Ability to pass a comprehensive background check and obtain an Airside Pass.
- Flexibility to work shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a ground handling, logistics, or customer service role.
- Familiarity with airport operations and safety procedures.
- Forklift operation certification or experience with heavy machinery.
- Knowledge of multiple languages is a plus, though not essential.
