Key Responsibilities

  • Perform general grounds maintenance tasks, including mowing lawns, weeding garden beds, pruning shrubs and trees, and planting new vegetation.
  • Operate and maintain a variety of manual and power tools and equipment such as mowers, trimmers, leaf blowers, and shovels in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Clean and clear outdoor areas, including pathways, parking lots, and recreational spaces, ensuring they are free from debris, litter, and hazards.
  • Assist with the loading and unloading of materials, equipment, and supplies required for groundskeeping duties.
  • Undertake manual labour tasks such as digging, raking, lifting heavy objects, and moving soil or other landscaping materials.
  • Support waste management efforts by collecting and disposing of refuse and organic waste appropriately.
  • Report any damage, hazards, or maintenance issues observed on the grounds to the immediate supervisor.
  • Adhere strictly to all company health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures.
  • Work collaboratively with other team members to achieve project goals and maintain harmonious working relationships.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned to support the efficient operation of LHDA facilities.

Required Skills

  • Proven physical stamina and ability to perform strenuous outdoor tasks for extended periods.
  • Basic understanding of groundskeeping techniques and the safe use of hand tools.
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions effectively.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience (6+ months) in a groundskeeping, landscaping, or general labourer role.

  • Familiarity with operating small engine power equipment (e.g., walk-behind mowers, weed trimmers).
  • Valid driver's license (Code B or higher) could be an advantage for operating utility vehicles.
