Key Responsibilities
- Perform general grounds keeping duties, including mowing, trimming, edging lawns, and blowing leaves/debris.
- Plant, cultivate, fertilize, water, and prune flowers, shrubs, and trees according to horticultural best practices.
- Maintain irrigation systems, including checking for leaks, repairing sprinklers, and adjusting watering schedules.
- Weed gardens, flowerbeds, and other landscaped areas to ensure a clean and manicured appearance.
- Operate and maintain a variety of grounds maintenance equipment, such as mowers, trimmers, blowers, and hand tools, ensuring their safe and efficient use.
- Monitor the health of plants and turf, identifying and addressing issues such as pests, diseases, or nutrient deficiencies.
- Assist with minor repairs and maintenance of outdoor furniture, fixtures, and pathways.
- Ensure cleanliness of outdoor common areas, including waste removal and litter picking.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and procedures, using appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Assist in seasonal tasks such as planting new vegetation, preparing grounds for events, or winterization efforts.
- Report any equipment malfunctions or significant grounds issues to management promptly.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in grounds maintenance, landscaping, or a related outdoor role.
- Ability to operate grounds maintenance equipment safely and effectively.
- Basic knowledge of horticulture, including plant identification, pruning techniques, and irrigation.
- Strong physical stamina and ability to perform strenuous tasks in various weather conditions.
- Excellent attention to detail and a strong commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and aesthetics.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating reliability and a proactive attitude.
