Job Description
Blue Mountain Inn is currently seeking a dedicated and diligent Grounds Staff member to join our esteemed team. As a key member of our operations team, the Grounds Staff will be instrumental in maintaining the aesthetic appeal and safety of the hotel’s extensive outdoor areas. Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine landscaping duties, including mowing, trimming, edging lawns, and pruning shrubs and trees.
- Plant, cultivate, fertilize, and water flowers, plants, and trees to maintain vibrant and healthy gardens.
- Operate and maintain various grounds equipment and tools safely and efficiently (e.g., mowers, trimmers, blowers, chainsaws).
- Ensure all pathways, driveways, and outdoor communal areas are clean, free of debris, and safe for guests and staff.
- Conduct minor repairs and maintenance on irrigation systems, fences, and outdoor furniture as needed.
- Manage waste removal and recycling from outdoor bins and designated areas.
- Monitor the health of plants and report any signs of disease or pest infestation to management.
- Assist with seasonal clean-ups, leaf removal, and general landscape improvements.
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations and company policies at all times.
- Support other operational teams with general duties and special projects as required to maintain property standards.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in groundskeeping or landscape maintenance.
- Proficiency in operating various landscaping equipment and tools (e.g., lawnmowers, trimmers, blowers).
- Basic knowledge of plant care, gardening techniques, and irrigation systems.
- Strong physical stamina and ability to perform strenuous tasks in various weather conditions.
- Reliability, punctuality, and a strong work ethic.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and aesthetics.
