Pemba Paradise is seeking a dedicated Part-Time Guest Welcome Greeter to join our vibrant team in Mgelema, Mkoani. This pivotal role is the first point of contact for our arriving guests, setting the tone for their entire stay. You will be instrumental in ensuring every guest feels warmly welcomed, valued, and excited about their Pemba Paradise experience. Key Responsibilities

  • Warmly welcome all arriving guests with a friendly smile and enthusiastic greeting, making them feel instantly at ease.
  • Assist guests with initial inquiries, courteously directing them to reception, their rooms, or other relevant resort areas.
  • Provide basic information about the resort's amenities, services, daily activities, and local attractions on Pemba Island.
  • Maintain a pristine and inviting lobby and entrance area, ensuring a pleasant and welcoming environment at all times.
  • Offer assistance with luggage when required, coordinating efficiently with porters to ensure smooth guest transitions.
  • Anticipate guest needs and proactively offer help or solutions before being asked, demonstrating genuine attentiveness.
  • Handle guest feedback and minor concerns gracefully and professionally, escalating more complex issues to management when necessary.
  • Collaborate effectively and communicate clearly with the front desk, concierge, security, and other resort departments.
  • Adhere strictly to all resort policies, procedures, and high-service standards to maintain operational excellence.
  • Embody the spirit of Pemba Paradise by consistently delivering exceptional guest service that exceeds expectations.

Required Skills

  • Exceptional interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
  • A genuinely friendly, outgoing, and professional demeanor.
  • Strong ability to create a positive and welcoming atmosphere for all guests.
  • Fluency in English (both spoken and understood).
  • Punctuality, reliability, and a strong work ethic.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and assist with light tasks such as directing guests or handling small items.
  • A keen eye for detail and a proactive approach to guest satisfaction and service.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a customer service, hospitality, or guest relations role, preferably in a hotel or resort setting.
  • Familiarity with Pemba Island's attractions, culture, and local language (Swahili).
  • Ability to speak additional languages is a significant advantage.
  • A diploma or certificate in Hospitality Management or a related field.
