Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement robust marketing operations strategies, processes, and best practices to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Oversee the marketing technology (MarTech) stack, evaluating new tools, managing existing platforms, and ensuring seamless integration.
  • Manage the marketing budget, forecast spending, track expenses, and ensure optimal allocation of resources across campaigns and initiatives.
  • Lead marketing project management, ensuring timely delivery of campaigns and initiatives, from conception to execution and post-campaign analysis.
  • Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics for marketing activities, providing regular reports and actionable insights to senior management.
  • Foster strong collaboration between marketing, sales, IT, and finance teams to ensure alignment on goals and resource utilization.
  • Manage relationships with external marketing agencies, vendors, and partners, ensuring service quality and cost-effectiveness.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives in marketing workflows, automation, and data governance.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing marketing operations team.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant data privacy regulations and internal policies regarding customer data and marketing practices.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience (5+ years) in a marketing operations leadership role, preferably within the retail sector.
  • Demonstrable expertise in marketing technology (MarTech) platforms, CRM systems, and marketing automation tools.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data, derive actionable insights, and make data-driven decisions.
  • Exceptional project management capabilities, with experience managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Proficiency in budget management, financial forecasting, and ROI analysis.
  • Solid understanding of digital marketing channels, analytics, and performance measurement.
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced retail environment.
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree (MBA) or relevant professional certification (e.g., PMP, Marketing Automation certification).
  • Experience with large-scale retail operations and consumer goods marketing.
  • Familiarity with the Zimbabwean retail market and consumer behavior.
  • Experience in implementing and optimizing marketing attribution models.
