Job Description
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Head of Sales Engineering to join our growing team, based regionally within the Buhera District of Manicaland Province. This pivotal role will lead and empower our sales engineering function, acting as the critical bridge between our cutting-edge agricultural, mining, and construction equipment and the complex technical needs of our clients. The Head of Sales Engineering will be instrumental in driving revenue growth by ensuring our sales teams are equipped with unparalleled technical expertise, developing tailored solutions, and building strong, trust-based relationships with customers. You will be responsible for understanding market needs, translating technical product capabilities into tangible customer benefits, and overseeing the entire pre-sales technical support process. This role demands a leader who can not only manage a team but also actively engage in high-level client discussions, demonstrate intricate product functionalities, and craft compelling technical proposals. Key Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Sales Engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence and customer-centricity.
- Act as a primary technical resource for the sales team and key clients, providing expert pre-sales support and solution design.
- Collaborate with sales, product development, and marketing teams to understand customer requirements and inform product roadmaps.
- Develop and deliver compelling technical presentations, product demonstrations, and proof-of-concept engagements to prospective clients.
- Oversee the creation of detailed technical proposals, specifications, and configurations that align with client needs and business objectives.
- Analyze market trends and competitor activities to identify new opportunities and challenges for ZIMPLOW’s offerings.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with key customers, industry partners, and stakeholders within the Manicaland region.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Agricultural, or related field).
- Proven experience (minimum 5 years) in sales engineering or technical pre-sales roles, preferably within agricultural machinery, heavy equipment, or industrial sectors.
- Demonstrable leadership and team management experience.
- Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and a strategic mindset.
- Proficiency in technical proposal writing and solution architecture.
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel extensively within the region.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Engineering or Business Administration.
- Experience with CRM software and sales enablement tools.
- Familiarity with the specific agricultural and mining landscapes of Zimbabwe and the Manicaland Province.
