Job Description

Bank of Kigali is seeking an experienced and visionary Head of Talent Strategy to join our dynamic team in Ruhango, Southern Province. This pivotal role will be instrumental in shaping the future of our human capital, driving strategic talent initiatives that align with our ambitious business goals and commitment to excellence. The Head of Talent Strategy will be responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing comprehensive talent management programs, including talent acquisition, performance management, leadership development, succession planning, and employee engagement strategies across our operations in the Southern Province and contributing to national frameworks. This position requires a leader who can not only design innovative talent solutions but also effectively communicate and execute them, fostering a culture of continuous learning, growth, and high performance. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of market trends, a data-driven approach, and the ability to inspire and lead change within a complex organizational structure. You will partner closely with senior leadership and HR business partners to ensure our talent pipeline is robust, diverse, and ready to meet the evolving demands of the financial services sector.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement a holistic talent strategy that supports Bank of Kigali's overall business objectives and growth plans.
  • Oversee all aspects of talent acquisition, ensuring effective sourcing, recruitment, and onboarding processes to attract top-tier talent.
  • Develop and manage comprehensive performance management systems that drive accountability, foster continuous feedback, and recognize high achievement.
  • Lead the creation and execution of leadership development programs, identifying and nurturing high-potential employees for future leadership roles.
  • Establish robust succession planning frameworks to ensure critical roles have readily available internal candidates.
  • Champion employee engagement initiatives, conducting surveys, analyzing feedback, and implementing actions to enhance employee satisfaction and retention.
  • Utilize HR analytics and data to inform talent decisions, measure program effectiveness, and report on key talent metrics to senior management.
  • Ensure talent strategies comply with all relevant labor laws and internal policies, promoting fairness and equity in all talent processes.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in Human Resources, with at least 5 years in a strategic talent management or leadership role.
  • Demonstrated expertise in developing and implementing talent acquisition, performance management, learning & development, and succession planning programs.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions.
  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
  • Proven leadership capabilities, with experience in managing and mentoring teams.
  • In-depth knowledge of Rwandan labor laws and HR best practices.
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Psychology, or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in HR, Business Administration, or a relevant field.
  • Professional HR certification (e.g., SHRM-SCP, SPHR, CIPD).
  • Experience working within the financial services sector in Rwanda or East Africa.
  • Proficiency in Kinyarwanda and French.
