Job Description

Career.zycto is seeking a dedicated and proactive Health and Safety Advisor to join our team in Altstadt, Passau. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive occupational health and safety (OHS) management systems and procedures.
  • Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with OHS legislation and company policies.
  • Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses, determine root causes, and recommend corrective and preventative actions.
  • Provide expert advice and guidance to management and employees on all OHS matters, including hazard control, emergency preparedness, and safe work practices.
  • Organize and deliver engaging OHS training programs and workshops to enhance employee awareness and competence.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of OHS programs and initiatives, recommending continuous improvements.
  • Maintain accurate OHS records, prepare reports, and submit necessary documentation to regulatory bodies.
  • Collaborate with internal departments and external agencies (e.g., regulators, emergency services) on OHS-related issues.
  • Stay current with OHS legislation, industry best practices, and technological advancements to ensure ongoing compliance and innovation.
  • Promote a positive safety culture through effective communication, engagement, and leadership.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience as a Health and Safety Advisor or similar role.
  • In-depth knowledge of German OHS legislation (e.g., Arbeitsschutzgesetz, DGUV Vorschriften).
  • Excellent understanding of risk assessment and incident investigation methodologies.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to develop and deliver engaging OHS training programs.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Fluent in German and English (written and spoken).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent international OHS qualification.
  • Certification as a 'Fachkraft für Arbeitssicherheit' (Safety Specialist) in Germany.
  • Experience with environmental management systems (e.g., ISO 14001).
  • First aid certification.
  • Proven track record of driving cultural change in safety.
