Career.zycto is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Full-Time Health Inspector to join our dedicated team in Lafayette Square, St. Louis. In this crucial role, you will be at the forefront of protecting public health, ensuring businesses and public spaces adhere to stringent health and safety regulations. You will conduct regular inspections of a wide variety of establishments, including restaurants, food service operations, childcare facilities, public pools, and other commercial and residential properties, to identify potential health hazards and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal health codes.

Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough and routine inspections of food establishments, public facilities, and other regulated entities to ensure compliance with health codes.
- Investigate complaints related to sanitation, foodborne illness, nuisance conditions, and other public health concerns.
- Educate business owners, managers, and employees on health regulations, best practices, and corrective actions required for compliance.
- Prepare detailed inspection reports, document violations, and recommend appropriate enforcement actions.
- Collect samples for laboratory analysis (e.g., food, water) when necessary and interpret results.
- Participate in outbreak investigations and emergency response activities related to public health threats.
- Maintain accurate records, manage case files, and utilize relevant software for data entry and analysis.
- Collaborate with other regulatory agencies and community organizations to promote public health initiatives.
- Stay current with changes in health codes, regulations, and public health best practices through ongoing training and professional development.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Public Health, Environmental Health, Biology, Chemistry, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Health Inspector or in a related public health regulatory role.
- Thorough knowledge of local, state, and federal health and environmental regulations.
- Excellent observational and analytical skills with meticulous attention to detail.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for report writing, presentations, and public interaction.
- Ability to work independently in various environments and manage a demanding caseload.
