This pivotal role offers an exceptional opportunity to champion safety standards, lead initiatives, and make a tangible difference in the daily operations of a dynamic manufacturing or logistics facility. As a Health & Safety Officer, you will be the cornerstone of workplace protection, ensuring that all operations adhere to the highest local and international safety regulations and best practices, including OSHA and local Jamaican Labour Laws related to workplace safety. Your expertise will be crucial in identifying potential hazards across various departments, from production floors to warehousing and logistics, conducting thorough risk assessments, and implementing robust control measures to mitigate risks effectively. This involves not only reactive measures but also proactive strategies to anticipate and prevent incidents before they occur. It’s about embedding a proactive safety culture where every team member, from the front-line worker to senior management, understands their role and responsibility in maintaining a hazard-free environment. You will be responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring comprehensive health and safety programs tailored to the unique demands of an industrial setting, which typically involves heavy machinery, diverse operational processes, chemical handling, and a multi-faceted workforce requiring diverse training approaches.

Beyond mere compliance, your mission will involve driving continuous improvement initiatives. You will meticulously investigate all incidents and near-misses, conducting root cause analyses and deriving actionable insights to prevent recurrence. Leading engaging and effective safety training sessions will be a key part of your role, empowering employees with the knowledge, skills, and awareness necessary to perform their duties safely and responsibly. This position demands a professional who is not only deeply knowledgeable in occupational health and safety principles but also possesses exceptional communication, strong leadership, and critical problem-solving abilities. You will serve as a trusted advisor to management, collaborating on strategic safety initiatives, compiling detailed reports, and actively promoting a climate of continuous vigilance and improvement across the entire industrial estate operations. If you are ready to take on a challenging yet immensely rewarding role where your dedication to safety directly contributes to operational excellence, employee well-being, and sustained business success, we invite you to apply through Career.zycto for this outstanding opportunity.
