Career.zycto is actively seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Health & Safety Officer to join one of our esteemed industrial clients located within the vibrant Granville Industrial Estate in Montego Bay. This professional role is critical in fostering a culture of safety excellence, ensuring compliance with all national and international occupational health and safety regulations, and minimizing workplace risks.
As a Health & Safety Officer, you will be instrumental in developing, implementing, and monitoring comprehensive safety programs tailored to an industrial environment. Your expertise will directly contribute to protecting our client’s most valuable assets: their employees. You will be responsible for conducting thorough risk assessments, identifying potential hazards, and implementing effective control measures. Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and monitor comprehensive occupational health and safety programs specific to an industrial estate setting.
- Conduct regular risk assessments, hazard identification, and implement effective control measures to mitigate workplace dangers.
- Ensure full compliance with local, national, and international health and safety regulations and standards.

Required Skills
- Proven experience in occupational health and safety, particularly within an industrial or manufacturing environment.
- In-depth knowledge of Jamaican health and safety legislation and international standards (e.g., OSHA, ISO 45001).
- Strong analytical skills for conducting risk assessments and incident investigations.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills to train and influence staff at all levels.
- Ability to develop and implement effective safety management systems.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) for reporting and documentation.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Certificate or Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- NEBOSH International General Certificate (IGC) or similar internationally recognized safety qualification.
