Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive Health & Safety policies, procedures, and programs in alignment with local regulations (e.g., OHS Act of Jamaica) and international best practices (e.g., OSHA, ISO 45001).
- Conduct regular risk assessments, safety audits, and inspections of industrial facilities, equipment, and processes to identify potential hazards and recommend corrective actions.
- Investigate all incidents, accidents, near misses, and occupational diseases to determine root causes and implement effective preventative measures.
- Organize and deliver engaging health and safety training sessions for all employees, ensuring awareness and compliance with safety protocols and emergency procedures.
- Ensure strict compliance with all relevant Jamaican occupational health and safety legislation, environmental regulations, and company standards.
- Manage emergency preparedness and response plans, including fire safety, hazardous material spills, and natural disaster protocols.
- Provide expert advice and guidance to management and staff on all H&S matters, promoting a strong safety culture throughout the industrial estate.
- Maintain accurate records, prepare comprehensive H&S reports, and analyze data to identify trends and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Oversee the proper use, maintenance, and availability of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Collaborate with external regulatory bodies during inspections and ensure all necessary documentation is presented accurately.
Required Skills
- In-depth knowledge of Jamaican Occupational Health & Safety regulations and relevant international standards.
- Proven experience in conducting comprehensive risk assessments and developing mitigation strategies.
- Strong incident investigation and root cause analysis capabilities.

- Proficiency in developing and implementing H&S management systems.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail.

- Computer literacy, including familiarity with H&S management software and Microsoft Office Suite.

Preferred Qualifications
