Job Description
This role requires a proactive and experienced Health & Safety Officer to champion a culture of safety across our expansive industrial estate in Smithfield, Savanna-la-Mar. As a pivotal member of our team, you will be instrumental in developing, implementing, and monitoring our comprehensive health and safety management systems. Your expertise will ensure compliance with all national and international regulations, minimize workplace risks, and foster a secure environment for all employees, contractors, and visitors. You will lead by example, conducting regular site inspections, identifying potential hazards, and formulating effective mitigation strategies. This isn’t just about compliance; it’s about empowering our workforce with the knowledge and tools to uphold the highest safety standards in their daily operations.
The industrial estate comprises diverse operations, presenting a unique challenge and opportunity to apply your skills across various disciplines. You will be responsible for creating and delivering engaging safety training programs, from new employee inductions to specialized hazard-specific workshops, ensuring that our team is not only aware of risks but also equipped to manage them effectively. Furthermore, you will take charge of incident investigations, meticulously analysing root causes and recommending corrective actions to prevent recurrence. Your ability to communicate complex safety information clearly and persuasively to all levels of the organisation, from management to front-line staff, will be crucial.
We are looking for a professional who is passionate about cultivating a proactive safety mindset rather than a reactive one. You will be a key advisor to management on all health and safety matters, contributing to strategic planning and continuous improvement initiatives. Your work will directly impact employee well-being, operational efficiency, and the company’s reputation as a responsible employer. If you thrive in a challenging, fast-paced environment and are committed to setting benchmarks in industrial safety, Career.zycto offers the perfect opportunity to grow your career and leave a lasting legacy of safety excellence.
