Key Responsibilities
- Assist patients with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, mobility, feeding, and dressing.
- Monitor vital signs (temperature, pulse, respiration, blood pressure) and record observations accurately.
- Help maintain a clean, tidy, and safe environment for patients, including bed making and general ward tidiness.
- Support nursing staff with patient transfers, mobility assistance, and repositioning to prevent pressure sores.
- Respond to patient call bells promptly and effectively, addressing immediate needs or escalating to nursing staff as required.
- Assist with the preparation and serving of meals, ensuring patients receive appropriate dietary requirements.
- Document care provided and patient observations in accordance with hospital policies and procedures.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a healthcare assistant, caregiver, or in a similar patient support role.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a compassionate and empathetic approach.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Strong observational skills and attention to detail.
- Understanding of basic medical terminology and patient care principles.
