Key Responsibilities
- Assist clients with personal hygiene, including bathing, dressing, and grooming.
- Support clients with mobility and transfers, using appropriate assistive devices as needed.
- Prepare and assist with meals, ensuring dietary requirements are met.
- Administer medication reminders and assist with self-administration as per care plan.
- Monitor and report changes in clients' physical, mental, or emotional condition to the supervising nurse or care coordinator.
- Engage clients in social activities, light exercises, and therapeutic recreational programs.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized environment for clients.
- Document care provided accurately and timely in accordance with company policies.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to clients and their families.
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations and infection control procedures.
Required Skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (English proficiency required)
- Demonstrated empathy, patience, and a compassionate approach to care
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Strong observational and reporting skills
- Basic understanding of health and safety principles
- Physical stamina and ability to perform duties involving standing, walking, lifting, and bending
- Reliability and punctuality in attendance
Preferred Qualifications
- Certificate in Healthcare Support (e.g., WSQ Certificate in Healthcare Support, Nitec in Community Care & Social Services, or equivalent)
- Prior experience working in a home care, community care, or clinical setting
- First Aid and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Familiarity with local healthcare regulations and best practices in Singapore
- Proficiency in a second language (e.g., Mandarin, Malay, Tamil) to better serve diverse client populations
