Key Responsibilities

  • Assist patients with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, mobility, and feeding, while ensuring comfort and dignity at all times.
  • Monitor and accurately record vital signs, observe changes in patient condition, and document all relevant information in electronic health records (EHR) systems.
  • Collaborate effectively with nurses, physicians, and other multidisciplinary healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe patient environment, adhering strictly to infection control protocols, safety regulations, and HIPAA guidelines.
  • Provide empathetic emotional support and companionship to patients and their families, fostering a sense of trust and well-being during their stay.
  • Assist with patient admissions, discharges, and transfers, ensuring a smooth, seamless, and coordinated process for all parties involved.
  • Respond promptly and appropriately to patient calls and emergencies, escalating concerns to nursing staff or immediate supervisors as required.
  • Adhere to all facility policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements set forth by state and federal health agencies.
  • Actively participate in ongoing training, workshops, and professional development activities to enhance skills, knowledge, and career growth.

Required Skills

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong empathy, compassion, and a patient-centered approach to care.
  • Ability to work effectively and collaboratively in a fast-paced, demanding, team-oriented healthcare environment.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and strong organizational abilities.
  • Physical stamina and capability to perform duties requiring lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or Medical Assistant (MA) certification is highly desirable.
  • Previous experience (1+ years) in a hospital, clinic, or long-term care setting.
  • Proficiency in Spanish or other languages common in the diverse Miami community.
  • Familiarity and experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems.
  • Associate’s degree or relevant coursework in a healthcare-related field.
