Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Home-Based FP&A Assistant to join our growing finance team. Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and periodic financial forecasts, collaborating with various departments to gather necessary data.
  • Conduct variance analysis, comparing actual results to budget and forecast, and provide clear explanations for significant deviations.
  • Support the development and maintenance of financial models used for strategic planning, investment analysis, and business case evaluations.
  • Prepare comprehensive financial reports and presentations for senior management, highlighting key trends, risks, and opportunities.
  • Gather, interpret, and analyse large datasets to identify patterns, insights, and potential areas for operational improvement.
  • Support ad-hoc financial analysis and special projects as required, providing timely and accurate information.
  • Ensure accuracy and integrity of financial data and reports, adhering to established policies and procedures.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the FP&A function, enhancing efficiency and effectiveness.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related quantitative field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a finance, accounting, or analytical role.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, complex formulas, financial modeling).
  • Strong understanding of financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow) and accounting principles.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills with a keen eye for detail.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively in a remote setting.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, for presenting financial information clearly.
  • Proficiency with general ledger software and data extraction tools.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Part-qualification (CIMA, ACCA, or equivalent) or a strong desire to pursue a professional accounting qualification.
  • Experience with FP&A software tools (e.g., Anaplan, Hyperion, Adaptive Insights, SAP BPC).
  • Prior experience working in a remote or home-based role.
  • Experience with Power BI or other data visualization tools.
