Job Description

Career.zycto is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Home-Based FP&A Assistant to join our growing team. This is a fantastic opportunity for an analytical professional looking to advance their career in financial planning and analysis from the comfort of their home office. You will play a crucial role in supporting the finance department with budgeting, forecasting, and various analytical tasks, contributing directly to strategic decision-making. We are looking for someone with a strong aptitude for numbers, exceptional Excel skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced virtual environment. Your work will involve diving deep into financial data, identifying trends, and presenting actionable insights to stakeholders. This role requires a proactive approach, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to accuracy and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and periodic financial forecasts.
  • Conduct variance analysis, comparing actual results to budget/forecast, and provide clear, concise explanations for deviations.
  • Prepare comprehensive financial reports and presentations for management, highlighting key performance indicators and financial trends.
  • Support data collection, consolidation, and analysis to aid strategic planning initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain financial models to support business decisions and future projections.
  • Collaborate effectively with various departments to gather necessary financial data and insights.
  • Ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data across all reporting tools and systems.
  • Perform ad-hoc financial analysis and special projects as required by senior management.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience (minimum 2 years) in an FP&A, financial analysis, or related finance role.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities with a keen eye for detail.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, VLOOKUP, SUMIFS, and financial functions.
  • Solid understanding of financial modeling principles and techniques.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of presenting complex financial information clearly.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines in a remote setting.
  • Strong organizational skills and a commitment to accuracy.
  • Proficiency in using common accounting software packages.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a closely related field.
  • Part-qualification (e.g., CIMA, ACCA, ACA) or actively studying towards a professional accounting qualification.
  • Prior experience with financial planning software (e.g., Anaplan, Hyperion, Adaptive Insights).
  • Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
  • Experience working in a fully remote or hybrid work environment.
