Job Description

We are seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Home-Based Inventory Analyst to join our dynamic team, operating remotely from Hillsborough, Sheffield. In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in optimizing our inventory levels across multiple product lines, ensuring product availability while minimizing carrying costs. Working independently from your home office, you will leverage advanced data analysis techniques to monitor stock movements, forecast demand, and identify trends and opportunities for improvement within our complex supply chain. As a Home-Based Inventory Analyst, you will be at the forefront of our efforts to maintain a lean yet robust supply chain. You will be responsible for developing and implementing inventory strategies, performing root cause analysis on discrepancies, and recommending data-driven solutions to enhance our inventory accuracy and forecasting models. Your daily tasks will involve deep dives into sales data, historical performance, supplier lead times, and promotional plans to refine demand predictions. You will also play a key role in managing obsolescence and slow-moving stock, proposing effective strategies for reduction. Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and investigate inventory discrepancies, performing root cause analysis and recommending corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with procurement, sales, and logistics teams to synchronize inventory strategies with business objectives.
  • Generate regular reports on inventory performance, stock turns, obsolescence, and key supply chain metrics.
  • Optimize stock allocation and replenishment strategies to minimize carrying costs and reduce stock-outs.
  • Proactively manage slow-moving and obsolete inventory, developing strategies for liquidation or repurposing.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of inventory management processes and systems.
  • Utilize ERP systems and advanced analytical tools to extract, manipulate, and interpret large datasets.
  • Provide data-driven insights and recommendations to support strategic decision-making.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience as an Inventory Analyst, Supply Chain Analyst, or similar role (3+ years).
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with proficiency in data manipulation and interpretation.
  • Expert-level proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, advanced formulas).
  • Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Dynamics 365) and inventory management software.
  • Excellent understanding of supply chain principles, inventory management best practices, and forecasting techniques.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a remote work environment.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Analytics, Economics, or a related field.
