Career.zycto is actively recruiting for a vigilant and caring Hospital Care Assistant to join our night shift team in Chiswick, London. Key Responsibilities

  • Assist patients with personal care, including washing, dressing, mobility, and toileting, maintaining dignity and respect.
  • Monitor and record vital signs (temperature, pulse, respiration, blood pressure) and accurately report any changes or concerns to nursing staff.
  • Support patients with their hydration and nutrition needs, assisting with meals and drinks as required.
  • Provide emotional support, companionship, and reassurance to patients throughout the night.
  • Help maintain a clean, tidy, and safe environment for patients, adhering to infection control policies.
  • Assist nurses with patient observations, repositioning, and other clinical tasks as directed.
  • Document patient care activities, observations, and any incidents accurately and promptly.
  • Respond quickly and effectively to patient call bells, ensuring their needs are met.
  • Adhere strictly to individual care plans, hospital policies, and health and safety regulations.
  • Work collaboratively with the nursing team and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care.

Required Skills

  • NVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care (or equivalent demonstrable experience)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • A compassionate, patient-focused, and empathetic approach
  • Ability to work independently and as an effective team member
  • Strong observational and accurate reporting skills
  • Reliability, punctuality, and commitment to working night shifts
  • Basic IT literacy for record-keeping and data entry
  • Right to work in the UK

Preferred Qualifications

  • NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care
  • Minimum 6 months previous experience in a hospital or acute care setting
  • First Aid certification
  • Manual handling training certification
  • Experience with electronic patient record systems
