Career.zycto is actively recruiting for a vigilant and caring Hospital Care Assistant to join our night shift team in Chiswick, London. Key Responsibilities
- Assist patients with personal care, including washing, dressing, mobility, and toileting, maintaining dignity and respect.
- Monitor and record vital signs (temperature, pulse, respiration, blood pressure) and accurately report any changes or concerns to nursing staff.
- Support patients with their hydration and nutrition needs, assisting with meals and drinks as required.
- Provide emotional support, companionship, and reassurance to patients throughout the night.
- Help maintain a clean, tidy, and safe environment for patients, adhering to infection control policies.
- Assist nurses with patient observations, repositioning, and other clinical tasks as directed.
- Document patient care activities, observations, and any incidents accurately and promptly.
- Respond quickly and effectively to patient call bells, ensuring their needs are met.
- Adhere strictly to individual care plans, hospital policies, and health and safety regulations.
- Work collaboratively with the nursing team and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care.
Required Skills
- NVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care (or equivalent demonstrable experience)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- A compassionate, patient-focused, and empathetic approach
- Ability to work independently and as an effective team member
- Strong observational and accurate reporting skills
- Reliability, punctuality, and commitment to working night shifts
- Basic IT literacy for record-keeping and data entry
- Right to work in the UK
Preferred Qualifications
- NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care
- Minimum 6 months previous experience in a hospital or acute care setting
- First Aid certification
- Manual handling training certification
- Experience with electronic patient record systems
