Key Responsibilities
- Provide effective leadership and supervision to the night shift care team, ensuring efficient workflow and consistent high standards of patient care.
- Oversee and actively assist with direct patient care activities, including personal care, mobility, nutrition, and comfort, as required.
- Administer medication safely and accurately, meticulously maintaining precise records and adhering strictly to all protocols and regulatory guidelines.
- Manage and respond promptly to medical emergencies and critical incidents, escalating concerns to senior staff or medical professionals as necessary.
- Ensure accurate and timely documentation of patient observations, care plans, daily reports, and any significant changes in condition.
- Conduct regular ward rounds to proactively assess patient well-being, monitor environmental safety, and address any immediate needs.
- Mentor, coach, and support junior staff, actively promoting continuous professional development and the adoption of best practices within the team.
- Act as a primary point of contact for patients' families, visitors, and other healthcare professionals during the night shift, providing clear and compassionate communication.

Required Skills
- Proven experience (minimum 4 years) in a senior care or lead role within a hospital or other healthcare setting.

- Ability to make quick, sound decisions under pressure, particularly in emergency situations.

Preferred Qualifications
- NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent healthcare qualification).
- Current First Aid and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
