Job Description

Career.zycto is seeking an experienced and compassionate Hospitality Care Lead Supervisor for the night shift to join a reputable care facility in Oadby, Leicester. This pivotal role involves overseeing the nightly operations, ensuring the highest standards of care and hospitality are maintained for residents. As a Night Shift Lead Supervisor, you will be instrumental in creating a safe, comfortable, and supportive environment throughout the evening and early morning hours. You will lead a dedicated team of care assistants, providing guidance, support, and oversight to ensure all care plans are meticulously followed and residents’ needs are met with dignity and respect. Your ability to calmly and effectively manage unexpected situations, coupled with a proactive approach to resident well-being, will be key to success. This role demands a commitment to excellence in care delivery, strong leadership capabilities, and a genuine desire to make a positive impact on the lives of others, especially during times when additional reassurance and support may be required. You will be the primary point of contact during your shift, coordinating with day staff for seamless transitions and maintaining accurate records.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, supervise, and support a team of night care assistants, ensuring optimal staffing levels and task distribution.
  • Oversee the delivery of person-centred care, ensuring all residents' care plans are followed precisely and updated as necessary.
  • Manage and respond to emergencies, incidents, and challenging situations promptly and effectively, documenting thoroughly.
  • Conduct regular rounds to monitor residents' well-being, comfort, and safety throughout the night.
  • Administer medication as prescribed, ensuring accuracy and adherence to all relevant policies and procedures.
  • Maintain clear and concise communication with residents, families, and healthcare professionals.
  • Ensure all health and safety regulations, as well as company policies, are strictly adhered to during the night shift.
  • Provide mentorship and ongoing training to night staff, fostering a positive and professional working environment.
  • Complete accurate daily reports, handover notes, and other administrative tasks to ensure seamless continuity of care.
  • Act as a role model, promoting a culture of empathy, respect, and high-quality service.
  • Assist residents with personal care, mobility, and other daily living activities as required.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in a supervisory or leadership role within a care or hospitality setting (minimum 3 years).
  • NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care or equivalent.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.
  • Demonstrable ability to lead, motivate, and manage a team effectively during night shifts.
  • Strong understanding of CQC regulations and best practices in care delivery.
  • Proficiency in medication administration and accurate record-keeping.
  • Ability to remain calm, resourceful, and decisive under pressure.
  • A compassionate and patient-centred approach to care.
  • Basic IT literacy for record management and communication.

Preferred Qualifications

  • First Aid at Work certification.
  • Experience with care management software systems.
  • Additional qualifications in leadership or management.
  • Previous experience specifically within elderly care or a residential setting.
