Career.zycto is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Hospitality Finance Assistant to join our growing team in Lokoja. This pivotal role will provide essential financial and administrative support, with a specific focus on our operations within the dynamic hospitality sector. You will be instrumental in maintaining accurate financial records, processing transactions, and assisting with reporting to ensure the financial health and compliance of our hospitality-related projects and client engagements. As a Hospitality Finance Assistant, you will work closely with our finance department and various project teams, ensuring that all financial data related to our hospitality ventures – from client invoicing and vendor payments to internal budget tracking for specific projects – is meticulously managed. You will play a crucial role in daily accounting operations, contributing to the smooth flow of financial information and supporting strategic decision-making. This includes reconciling accounts, preparing financial documents, and ensuring adherence to internal policies and regulatory standards. Key Responsibilities

  • Process invoices, expense reports, and payments accurately and in a timely manner, specifically for hospitality-related clients and vendors.
  • Assist in the preparation of financial statements, reports, and budgets tailored to hospitality projects.
  • Maintain precise and up-to-date financial records, including ledgers, journals, and reconciliation statements.
  • Reconcile bank statements and other financial accounts regularly, identifying and resolving discrepancies.
  • Support the finance team with month-end and year-end closing procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with financial policies, procedures, and relevant regulatory requirements specific to the hospitality sector.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to gather necessary financial data and provide financial insights when requested.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience as a Finance Assistant or similar role, preferably within the hospitality industry or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of basic accounting principles and financial processes.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage) and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and financial record-keeping.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • High level of integrity and discretion when handling confidential financial information.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or HND in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.

  • Familiarity with financial regulations and tax compliance in Nigeria.
  • Experience with budget monitoring and variance analysis.
