As a Banquet Assistant, you will be an integral part of a dynamic team responsible for the seamless execution of all banquet functions. Your primary objective will be to support the Banquet Captain and Banquets Manager in setting up, servicing, and breaking down events, ensuring every detail aligns with the highest standards of luxury and guest satisfaction.

This position requires someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, possesses excellent organizational skills, and has a strong commitment to teamwork. You’ll be instrumental in transforming event spaces, arranging tables, chairs, and décor, and ensuring all audio-visual equipment is correctly positioned. During events, you will assist with food and beverage service, responding promptly and courteously to guest requests, and maintaining a pristine environment. Post-event, your role extends to efficient clean-up and resetting for future functions. Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the complete setup and breakdown of banquet rooms according to event specifications and diagrams.
  • Prepare tables, chairs, linens, centerpieces, flatware, glassware, and serving equipment for all functions.
  • Support the serving of food and beverages, ensuring timely delivery and presentation standards are met.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of banquet areas, including pre-function spaces, during and after events.
  • Respond promptly and courteously to guest requests and inquiries, ensuring exceptional service.
  • Work closely with the Banquet Captain and Banquets Manager to ensure all operational tasks are completed efficiently.
  • Replenish supplies, including beverages, condiments, and other items as needed throughout events.
  • Adhere to all hotel safety, hygiene, and service standards and policies.
  • Assist with inventory management of banquet equipment and supplies as required.

Required Skills

  • Proven ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to lift and carry heavy trays or equipment (up to 25 kg).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Physical stamina to stand, walk, and carry items for extended periods.
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience (at least 1 year) in a banquet or food and beverage service role within a hotel or event venue.
  • Familiarity with various types of banquet setups and service styles.
  • Basic knowledge of food safety and hygiene regulations.
