Key Responsibilities
- Set up banquet rooms according to event specifications, including tables, chairs, linens, place settings, and décor.
- Serve food and beverages to guests promptly and courteously during banquets, meetings, and special events.
- Anticipate guest needs and respond to requests in a professional and efficient manner.
- Clear tables, refresh beverages, and maintain a clean and organized service area throughout events.
- Assist with the breakdown of banquet rooms after events, including cleaning, stacking chairs, and storing equipment.
- Adhere strictly to all health, safety, and hygiene standards and procedures.
- Work collaboratively with kitchen staff, banquet managers, and other team members to ensure smooth event execution.
- Handle guest concerns and complaints with a positive attitude, escalating issues to management when necessary.
- Maintain a thorough knowledge of menu items, beverage selections, and event schedules.
- Operate within all company policies and procedures, including those related to responsible alcohol service.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Banquet Server or similar role in a reputable hotel or event venue.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with fluency in English (Swahili is a strong advantage).
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow precise instructions.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
- Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Physical stamina to stand, walk, lift (up to 25 lbs), and carry items for extended periods.
- Availability to work flexible hours, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Strong customer service orientation and a professional, friendly demeanor.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in a 4-star or 5-star hotel environment.
